Um documentário tendo como personagem Helmuth Wagner, nos faz mergulhar em um longínquo passado. Uma pequena cidade do interior, Canoinhas SC, onde Helmuth nasceu.O olhar sobre a sucessão de imagens retratadas nas fotos de Helmuth Wagner, nos atira a uma plácida viagem poética através de seus olhos. A camada de gelo recobre as cercas de arame farpado, transgride os seus limites e congela a paisagem. A precária casa de madeira, ao lado da via férrea. Nas mãos do pai de Helmuth a música alegre do bandoneón é interrompida pelo anúncio de tempestade. O esconderijo no galinheiro, a ilusão de um lugar mais seguro, a infância rica em vivências. O contato com a natureza, observar o cheiro da mata molhada, as frutas silvestres colhidas do pé. No barracão apetrechos de marcenaria. O pai de Helmuth recorta lambrequins. Eles se assemelham a flocos de neve. Remetem a única lembrança que se assemelha à terra natal dos pais, a Alemanha. A máquina fotográfica antiga e o equipamento fotográfico em madeira feito pelo pai desperta o interesse de Helmuth pela fotografia. Inicia-se o imaginário de luzes e sombras capturadas e eternizadas por Helmuth Wagner através de suas fotografias. Um menino segue pelo caminho, descalço, espera a hora propícia para brincar com os contrastes de luz. Ao entardecer o céu tingido de vermelho. Buscar o cavalo no pasto. O espantalho ameaçador vigia os seus domínios, mas preso a sua imobilidade não impede a passagem do menino sonhador. O fotógrafo Helmuth Wagner faleceu em Curitiba em 1988 e deixou um extraordinário legado fotográfico sobre a natureza, a cultura e o povo do Paraná. Foi um dos membros mais atuantes do Fotoclube do Paraná, onde foi presidente por 14 anos. Sua participação em exposições e salões fotográficos nacionais e internacionais lhe renderam várias premiações. Editou três importantes álbuns fotográficos, Serra do Mar, Sete Quedas e Ilha do Mel. Em 2009 algumas de suas obras foram selecionadas para a 17ª edição da Coleção Pirelli MASP de fotografia, e passam a integrar o acervo do Museu de Arte de São Paulo. Sereno e belo um menino está adormecido. Placidez do sono, talvez a gentil face da morte. À sua volta, margaridas. O céu em tons amarelados e escuros dá a sensação dúbia de amanhecer ou anoitecer. Um ciclo, enfim, se encerra. O silêncio envolvendo o corpo em repouso, as pálpebras cerradas, as pétalas mudas, enfeixam a última imagem de Colagens, de Ingrid Wagner. A cena tocante poderia ser explicada como um momento após o sonho: tudo aquilo que antes se viu, em narrativas e fragmentos, nada mais seria que levezas e pesadelos no sono inquieto do garoto. Este, porém, é apenas um exercício de imaginação. Mesmo porque seria por demais pedante tentar explicar o que é tão-somente sentimentos, volúpia de sensibilidade e imagens que por si só contam e recontam histórias em silêncios. Ingrid Wagner, a autora, buscou na transparência das tardes os caminhos de suas narrativas.

Cada obra tem como ponto de partida uma figura qualquer, que por algum motivo se torna especial. “Geralmente parte de uma figura e vai evoluindo. É o fio da meada, a pontinha do fio”, diz Ingrid. Pilhas de revistas, milhares de páginas consultadas aos poucos oferecem a ela o que procura: um objeto, paisagem, cena ou cor, simplesmente cor, na tonalidade desejada. Os recortes são por vezes, muitas vezes, diminutos. Extraídos de propagandas, por exemplo, ajustam-se como ladrilhos no surrealismo das composições. Emendas imperceptíveis colorem céus e chãos, montanhas e lavas. A calda de um doce de revista gastronômica transfigura-se em tortura de sangue derramado. A transformação é um dos elementos da criação de Ingrid, mas não é o essencial. A busca maior está em fazer das colagens sua palavra e voz. “Coloquei textos no livro pensando em acentuar a idéia do que fiz; estão ali mais para acompanhar a imagem do que explicá-la. As obras trazem emoções, não necessariamente histórias”. Razão e emoção caminham lado a lado. “Para mim o que está ali é muito real, mas situa-se em outro contexto, numa outra dimensão do real. A colagem permite isso. Acredito que numa pintura não teria o mesmo efeito”, comenta a artista. Quebra-cabeça constante o ato de recortar, montar, separar as peças, substituir por outras. Papéis, papéis, papéis – e o painel surgindo lentamente entre erros e acertos, até o último toque. Daí então a delicadeza cirúrgica da cola e o destino final das centenas de recortes. Silêncio e finitude permeiam as narrativas, mesmo nas cenas mais dramáticas. Danação e santidade, anseios, desejos, sonhos, retalhos de pensamentos, lembranças desfocadas. “Nada é permanente. Serene and beautiful is a boy who is asleep. Placidness of the sleep, perhaps the gentle face of death. Around him, daisies. The sky in dark and yellowish shades makes a doubtful impression of dawn or dusk. After all a cycle closes. Silence involving the body at rest, eyelids shut, mute petals amass the last image of Collages, by Ingrid Wagner. The moving scene could be explained as a moment after the dream: all that was once seen, in narratives and fragments, would be no more than lightness and nightmare in the restless sleep of the boy. This, however, is just an exercise for imagination. Moreover because it would be overly presuming to try to explain what is nothing but feelings, voluptuous sensitivity, and images that by themselves tell and retell stories in silences. Ingrid Wagner, the author, sought in the transparence of the afternoons the paths for her narratives. Each work has any given shape as its starting point, and for some reason it becomes special. “Usually it comes from a shape and it keeps evolving. It is the starting line, the tip of it”, says Ingrid. Piles of magazines, thousands of consulted pages gradually give her what she seeks: an object, a landscape, a scene or a color, simply a color, in the desired shade. The cuts are sometimes, many times, tiny. Extracted from advertisements, for example, they adjust as tiny tiles in the surrealism of the compositions. Imperceptible amendments color the skies and the grounds, the mountains and lavas. The candy syrup from a gastronomical magazine transforms into a blood spilling torture. Transformation is one of the elements of Ingrid’s creation, but it is not the essential one. The greatest search is in making of the collages her words and voice. “I put texts in the book trying to highlight the idea of what I have made; they are there to follow the image more than to explain it. The works carry emotions, not necessarily stories”. Reason and emotion walk side by side. “To me what is there is very real, but it takes place in another context, in another dimension of reality. Collage allows that to happen. I believe it would not have the same effect on a painting”, comments the artist. A constant jigsaw puzzle is the act of cutting, assembling, separating the pieces, and substituting them for other ones. Papers, papers, papers – and the panel slowly emerging among mistakes and successes, until the finishing touch. Then the surgical delicateness of the glue, and the final destination of the thousands of cuts. Silence and finitude permeate the narratives, even in the most dramatic scenes. Damnation and sanctity, urges, wishes, dreams, patches of thoughts, blurred memories. “Nothing is permanent. There is always a movement of time, of passage”, observes Ingrid Wagner about her work. Diretora cinematográfica e artista multimídia, Ingrid Marie Wagner é natural de Curitiba, filha do consagrado fotógrafo Helmuth Erich Wagner e da desenhista imaginativa Edith Pitz Wagner. Os Irmãos Wagner, Ingrid, Rosane, Elizabeth e Helmuth Jr ('Muti') iniciaram juntos suas carreiras como curta metragistas. A partir dos anos 80, participando de concursos de roteiros, viabilizaram produções em 16mm e 35mm. Tiveram filmes premiados em festivais no Brasil e no exterior, como no "Canadian Amateur Film Festival". No Paraná, foram reconhecidos tanto nos meios oficiais, com menções na Assembléia Legislativa e na Câmara Municipal de Curitiba, quanto nos empresariais, recebendo prêmios como o “Bichos do Paraná”, concedido a personalidades destacadas em suas respectivas áreas. Ainda prosseguindo a sua trajetória de cineasta, em 2006, já na era do cinema digital, Ingrid dirige, junto com Fernando Severo, o documentário “Helmuth Wagner, Alma da Imagem”. Em 1992, Ingrid inicia o seu trabalho com colagens e em 2008 lança o livro Ingrid Wagner - Colagens.

A movie director and a multimedia artist, Ingrid Marie Wagner is from Curitiba, the daughter of renowned photographer Helmuth Erich Wagner and imaginative drawing artist Edith Pitz Wagner. The Irmãos Wagner [Wagner Brother's], Ingrid, Rosane, Elizabeth e Helmuth Jr ('Muti') started togheter their career as Short Film Makers. From the 1980’s on, by participating in screenplay contests, they could carry on 16mm and 35mm productions. They were present at the “Canadian Amateur Film Festival” in the years 1977 and 1978; they received the certificate and Artistic Quality accreditation granted by “The Toronto Movie Club”, in 1979.
In Paraná, they were acclaimed as much in the official media, mentioned at the Legislative Assembly and at the Curitiba City Chamber, as in the business media, having received awards as the “Bichos do Paraná”, granted to notable personalities in their respective areas.
Still pursuing her career as a moviemaker, in 2006, at the digital cinema era, Ingrid directed, along with Fernando Severo, the documentary “Helmuth Wagner, Alma da Imagem” [“Helmuth Wagner, Soul of the Image”].
In 1992, Ingrid starts her work with collage and in 2008 release the book Ingrid Wagner - Colagens.
